Andrew Trollope KC and Greg Unwin Represent Teenager Acquitted of Murder

12 July 2024

Andrew Trollope KC and Greg Unwin acted for a 15-year-old accused of murder in a four-week trial at the Old Bailey. The client was accused of summoning the first defendant to the scene on Regents Park Road in Finchley and providing ‘backup’ as part of a murderous plan leading to a young man being fatally stabbed in the neck. The defence case was that there was no evidence of participation or intent capable of meeting the requirements of R v Jogee & Others.

After 23 hours of deliberation, the jury found Mr Trollope and Mr Unwin’s client not guilty of murder or manslaughter. The first defendant was convicted of manslaughter. Mr Trollope and Mr Unwin were instructed by Romana Khan of Solomons Solicitors.
