Sania Nissar Represents Defendant on Charges of ABH, Intentional Strangulation and Common Assault

2nd July 2025

Sania Nissar successfully secured the acquittal of her client on charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation and common assault at Luton Crown Court.

The prosecution alleged that her client, on 3 separate dates, assaulted the complainant. As part of their case, the prosecution produced a bundle containing images of bruising, which they alleged were caused by her client.

Sania meticulously reviewed the unused material and identified material not included on any disclosure schedule. This material highlighted weaknesses in the Crown’s case and adequacy of the initial investigation.

After deliberating for roughly 2 hours the jury unanimously acquitted her client of all charges he faced.

Sania was instructed by Nadeem Butt of Butt Solicitors.
