Peter Guest Successfully Defends in a Joined Trial in Which The Defendant Faced Similar Allegations of Rape and Violence Made by Separate Women on Different Occasions

17 December 2025

Peter Guest Criminal and Financial Fraud Barrister

Peter Guest secured the acquittal of CH, who had been accused of rape by two women. The two women had separately met CH socially and had gone back to his portacabin, within hours of meeting him. The first complainant spoke of events in 2024. She said that she had been raped twice and that other violence had been used. The second, an off-duty police officer, said that in 2025 she had fallen asleep and had woken to find him raping her; he had strangled and hit her.

CH told the jury that each woman had consented and that there had been no violence. Following cross-examination, which exposed significant inconsistencies in each woman’s account, the jury unanimously acquitted of all charges.

Peter was instructed and assisted by Gavin Rofer and Meghann Lloyd of Keppe Rofer.
