James Onalaja Appointed as Visiting Professional Counsel to the International Criminal Court (ICC) Office of Public Counsel for the Defence

James Onalaja has been appointed to the role of Visiting Professional Counsel at the International Criminal Court (ICC), to assist the Office of Public Counsel for the Defence (OPCD) in its duties representing, protecting, and promoting the interests of the defence and advising and representing suspects and defendants in proceedings before the ICC.

As a result, James will be based at the ICC in the Hague for a period of 6 months from Mid-November 2023. James will continue to receive instructions at 187 Chambers on matters fixed for trial and contested hearings for dates post Mid-May 2024.
