Emma Nash Successfully Prosecutes Paedophile, John Bliss

Emma Nash secured 8 convictions including 2 of rape of a child under 13 against John Bliss at Chelmsford Crown Court on 2nd February 2023.

John Bliss was found guilty after trial of serious sexual abuse of a young child aged under 13 over a 2 year period.The case involved contested expert DNA transfer evidence where Emma’s knowledge and expertise in this field meant she was able to demonstrate to the jury through cross examination why the defence expert was less reliable than the Crowns.

On 16th March he was found to meet the dangerousness criteria and sentenced to an extended sentence of 20 years comprised 15 years custodial element and a 5 year extended licence. He was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for life.
