David Lyons Criminal Defence Barrister

David Lyons secured the immediate release of a defendant who had pleaded guilty to S18 on a relative. The basis of plea was that the relative had seriously and repeatedly sexually assaulted the Defendant, now in their 30’s, when they were a child, causing life-long mental and addiction problems. The Defendant received under three years for a very serious assault involving kicking to the face requiring surgery. As the Defendant had spent time on Remand and tag, the sentence resulted in his immediate release.
