Retirement of John Pyne

6 December 2024

After an incredible 43 years of loyal service we bid a fond farewell to John Pyne, as he retires from his role as Senior Clerk at the end of December.  Last night we celebrated John’s fabulous career at the Law Society where he was joined by members, judges, clerks and family & friends.

John joined Chambers aged 16 straight from school in 1981, when we were known as 1 Middle Temple Lane.  For 28 of those 43 years, John has been our Senior Clerk guiding chambers to the success it is today, where he is highly respected across the legal industry.  He passes the mantle on to Steven Wright (Senior Clerk) and Tom Parker (Deputy Senior Clerk) who join our outstanding clerking team of Theresa, Steph, Jo and Seb.

All at 187 Chambers would like to thank John for his invaluable service and wish him all the best as he begins this new chapter of his life.
