Ali Dewji’s client had been made the subject of a Confiscation Order. When the client was involved in a traffic accident and received about £20,000 in compensation for his injuries, a Crown Court judge ordered that he pay that money to the prosecution. Ali took his client’s case to the Court of Appeal and the court reversed the order in part – Ali’s client was allowed to keep half the money.
