A jury at Ipswich Crown Court took less than an hour to find the 79-year old defendant guilty of attempting to murder a former friend by shooting him with a prohibited firearm.
The defendant had sought to blame the victim for the gun being discharged in a struggle but this was countered by a ballistics expert called by the prosecution.
